We meet Sunday mornings at 10:00am in the Youth Room - we are currently going through the book of Revelation.
We also meet with the young adults on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm until 8:00pm for discussion, games, and food!
Expect the Unexpected.
Seriously. Games. Movies. Sitting at the table reading bibles. When we studied spiritual warfare and the Armor of God we looked at medieval battle tactics and used foam swords and shields to put what we learned into practice. But whatever we're doing it's to help lay the spiritual, theological, philosophical, biblical, and practical foundations of understanding and embracing our faith. Sometimes... the best ministry can happen over a game of chess listening to Star Wars music.
Our verse is: "Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." Isaiah 1:17.
Currently on Sunday Mornings, we're going through the book of Revelation.
The approach we're taking to this often misunderstood and complicated book is that everything in the book of Revelation is true and literal unless it says otherwise in the bible. I.e. in Revelation 20:2 it says, "He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.'
We're studying the book of Revelation for three main reasons:
1. It's the revelation of Jesus Christ. We see Jesus are more than a baby in a manger and a man on a cross, but as a risen king with a fierce love for his people riding the world of evil, pain, and suffering.
2. We're promised a blessing for reading it.
3. There's stuff we can learn from it as it is telling us about the future.
(BONUS) There's a big buff angel that's going to throw Satan into a bottomless pit.
